- USWNT maintain clean sweep enroute to fourth title on the bounce

USWNT are this year’s edition of the SheBelieves Cup winners after they beat Brazil 2-1 in the final match of the tournament played on February 22 at Toyota Stadium, Frisco.
Going into the match needing at least a point to claim their fourth consecutive title, USA made no mistakes, scoring two goals through forwards Alex Morgan at the stroke of halftime as well as a 63rd minute strike from top markswoman Mallory Swanson (nee Pugh). Brazil scored their face saver through substitute Ludmila on the 90th minute.
In scoring the latest goal, Swanson continued her stellar performances for USWNT in front of goal the goal becoming her fourth the four-team, round-robin tournament and seventh of the year overall for U.S.
Earlier Japan had put three goals past Canada to snap a two match winless streak in the tournament and land runner-up medal. Kiko Seike broke through. albeit against the run of play, in the 26th minute to open the floodgates for Japan. Striker Yui Hasegawa converted a 40th minute penalty past Kailen Sheridan, who subbed in for injured Sabrina D’Angelo on minute 30.
