A befitting partnership was signed between Philippine Women’s National Team and Adidas after the latter has a motto that says “Impossible Is Nothing” which embodies the feat achieved by the Filipinas as they qualified for their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in July 2023.

The Philippines Women’s National Team (PWNT) signed a four-year partnership with Adidas in a deal that was formalised on Thursday at the New World Hotel in Makati City. The deal will see the Filipinas wearing the Adidas kit during their historic appearance at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup in July 2023.

The sportswear giants will also supply the PWNT’s apparel during their Pinatar Cup participation in Spain this month, the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers in April and the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia in May among others. The deal will also see Adidas supplying apparel to the U-20 and coaching teams.

Philippines Football Federation (PFF) president Mariano Araneta and general secretary Edwin Gastanes, Filipinas team members Inna Palacios and Hali Long, and Adidas Philippines General Manager Anthony Frangos were present to witness the landmark deal.

“This is an incredibly significant partnership for the Philippine Women’s National Football Team. We are honoured to have Adidas as our official kit supplier as we prepare to compete at the Philippines’ maiden FIFA World Cup in six months’ time,” said team manager Jefferson Cheng.

“We thank adidas for its inclusive support for the beautiful game all over the world, for sponsoring the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and now for giving its full support to the Philippines’ women’s teams, not just to our Senior Team bound for the World Cup but also to our youth teams participating in various international tournaments in the coming months.”

The Adidas representative said the deal “aims to proactively propel the conversation around women in sport and the growing local support for football, especially following the team’s string of successes over the last few years.”

“As the country’s national women’s team gears to have a packed 2023 ahead of them, we at Adidas are truly honoured to forge a partnership with them,” said Frangos.
