The Orlando Pride team news

Orlando Pride have goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse to thank as she made 12 saves in a road loss against the Thorns FC, a performance that was handy in helping the team keep the score down to 4-0 in the opening weekend. The goalkeeper, who recently celebrated her 28th birthday on Tuesday, clocked double-digit saves in a game for the second time, the first time being for Bordeaux against PSG in Division 1 Féminine in December 2021.

In the attacking third, debutants Messiah Bright and Adriana as well as returnees Mikayla Cluff and Julie Doyle led each with two shots.

Orlando will be looking for some measure of control at the back having allowed 27 shots and 16 shots on target against Thorns FC.

Angel City FC team news

The visitors will be out to end a slump that has seen them loose three consecutive league matches in a period dating back to 2022. Angel City FC forward Alyssa Thompson scored an early goal of the season contender and that in her regular season debut.

Thompson became the second-youngest player to score on her NWSL debut, a fit bettered only by Jaedyn Shaw who remains first.  Forward Katie Johnson was impressive in the attacking third, contributing more than one shot on goal of the 11 shots registered by the team.
