Arsenal legend Thierry Henry heads the list of coaches likely to succeed Corinne Diacre as France women’s national team manager.

As per L’Équipe, Henry has been touted as ‘an interesting option’ for the vacant post.

Extensive discussions have taken place inside the corridors of power at French Football Federation and a committee consisting of Jean-Michel Aulas (President of Lyon), Marc Keller (President of Strasbourg), Aline Riera, and Laura Georges (former international players) has been given the mandate to make recommendations to stand-in president Philippe Diallo.

Aulas outlined the criteria stating that the candidate should be “ambitious, have experience leading teams, and possess knowledge of women’s football“.

Henry heading the list of potential next managers for France comes as no surprise as he has previously worked in managerial positions having been second in commands to Roberto Martínez for the Belgium national team and as the head coach of MLS side, Montreal Impact. He also had an unforgettable stint as Monaco manager where he was sacked after a string of poor results.
