Spurs sack manager Rehanne Skinner after nine defeats on the trot

Tottenham Women have sacked under-fire manager Rehanne Skinner after a nine game winless streak.

Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to WSL returnees Liverpool proved to be the final straw, prompting the club to make managerial changes so as to survive relegation.

Tottenham currently have a two point advantage over bottom-placed Leicester.

The London club hired Rehanne Skinner after the sacking of Karen Hills and Juan Carlos Amoros in December 2020 following a slump in form.

The club made several additions in an effort to rescue their faltering season and even broke the domestic record to sign Bethany England from Chelsea in January.

It was not all gory under Skinner, though, as the club were able to avoid relegation in 2020-21 enroute to 8th rank finish and enjoyed a successful 2021-2022 season, subsequently finishing fifth – the club’s highest ever position in the WSL.

Tottenham do not have much time to recover after the sacking of Skinner as they take on Leicester on Wednesday. Vicky Jepson will take temporary charge for the midweek bottom-of-the-table fixture.
