Amid the ongoing labour impasse between Canada Football Association and the players, Canada Women’s national team coach Bev Priestman has dispelled rumors of departure after the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, committing her future the team.

Speaking to the media earlier today, Bev Priestman confirmed she has received numerous offers but is with the CanWNT for the long haul.

“Obviously post– (Olympic) gold medal there’s been regular opportunities put in front of me,” Priestman told the media when asked about the English report. “But I think that the biggest thing is I’m committed to this group of players and I’ve shared some incredible moments with them. And I want those moments to continue.

“It is a really difficult circumstance, we can’t hide from that. But my aim is to be with this group of players and to share more incredible moments.”

Priestman stressed the honour she feels representing the players saying, “What comes out loud and clear to me is this group, they’re not just fighting for themselves in the next six months,”

The dispute ad threatened to derail CanWNT participation in this year’s edition of SheBelieves Cup which would have negatively impacted on their preparations for the WC.
